The Basics

I grew up in St.Joseph, MO and went to college there at Missouri Western State College and received my undergraduate degree in elementary education w/ a certificate in special education. i then taught for several years in the public schools in St. Joseph. I then went to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO to receive my masters degree in Elementary Administration and Supervision. I taught for 6 years and then took a principals position for 2 years before we moved to Carmel in 2000. I worked in hamilton county schools Noblesville and Fishers for 2 years, I also worked for Sandy Ageter in the MMO program for 1 year during our stay in Carmel until 2004. We then moved to Fairhope, AL on the Gulf Coast and started a MMO program from scratch and was the Director for 2 years while working as a lay person in childrens ministry on the weekends.

Scott and I were married on Dec. 17, 1994 in St. Joseph, MO. He is the love of my life and my soul mate. We were married for 4 years before deciding to have kids.. just a dog, Elisha, up until then. he balances me and brings me joy! We have three children, Abi, Emmy, and Bradyn. They are 3 very beautiful, busy and boisterous kids. They complete my life! I home school all 3 of them and love life with them.

My responsibilities at church are...recruiting, training, developing programs and outreach, teaching kids about God, providing leadership to all adult volunteers, scheduling, acquiring materials, and everything else that goes along w/ childrens ministry

My favorite thing about being at Northview is...the family atmosphere, the come as you are philosophy and of course the great teaching and energy that comes along with it

If I had my dream vacation I’d...never come home from my island getaway. I would live in the tropics somewhere where its not too hot or cold, sunny, and no fire ants or big bugs!

If you want to read a good book get...it on cd and listen to it. I rarely have time to sit and read a good book w/ 3 small kids, but I love to read about marriage stuff or raising kid stuff. On the other hand, I recommend "Velvet Elvis" by Rob Bell... great book and a tremendous paradigm shift on how we view church and the people who enter our doors.

If I could do a hobby for a living I’d...be a professional shopper for kids clothing or maybe live at the beach and be a life guard-again somewhere not too hot and not too cold w/ few bugs.

My favorite team to cheer for is...the Chiefs, of course, Im from the Kansas City, MO area! Then the St. Louis Cardinals, and then the Colts!

The best movie I’ve ever seen is...Pay It Forward... what a concept!

My most rewarding volunteer activity is...childrens ministry- Love to see kids come to Christ and "get it". I like to see lives changed and their openness and blunt honesty w/ their peers as their life evolves into a Christ follower.

If I didnt work at Northview I’d...not work at all! I love being w/ my family and home schooling my kids, Abi-the invincible, Emmy-the princess, and Bradyn-our wonder boy. I cant think of a job more rewarding or important than raising 3 kids to love God and others!
